Louis Rugman

Born in Itchington Louis Rugman is listed on the Tytherington War Memorial.  He served with the Gloucestershire Regt and died on 21st March 1918  He is commemorated at the Poziers Memorial Somme, France Panel 40-41, and  is also listed on the Gloucestershire Regiment Cenotaph, Gloucester.  The British Army WW1 Medal Rolls Index Card shows he was awarded the Victory and British Medals.  An explanation of medals awarded at this time can be found here.

In the 1911 Census he is listed as 19 years of age living in Itchington with his father Alfred, a farm labourer, his mother Mary and one brother and a sister.  He was employed as a farm labourer.
