Maurice Livall

Maurice Richard Livall features on the Tytherington War Memorial born in 1897 he enlisted in July 18th 1915 into the 8th Gloucestershire Regiment.  He survived the war dying some time after on 24th August 1924.  The 1911 Census (below) shows him age 14 living with his father George, a Rockman in the local limestone quarry, his mother Mary Ann and two sisters and a brother.  At that time Maurice was employed in one of the two Concrete (Slab) Sheds in Tytherington.  His military record shows he was awarded the Victory and British medals, and 1915 Star Medal.  Medals awarded are explained here.
