The Result Of The Protest Against The Closure Of The Tytherington School
|Despite a huge outcry and effort by Governors, Parents, Friends,
Children and Villagers, and communications with the Minister for
Education Sir Keith Joseph the following letter was received by the
Governors in April 1984.
It was a huge blow to everyone in the village but perhaps not entirely unexpected. The school was to close at the end of the summer term 1984 after being in existence for 107 years.
