|Sidney Jeffries is listed on the Tytherington War Memorial. He
was killed in action prior to the First World War fighting with the 7th
(Service) Battalion of the Gloucestershire Regiment in Gallipoli.
His final resting place is unknown and is listed on the Helles Memorial. The 7th was the first Regiment to set sail
for Gallipoli in June 1915. They were not professional soldiers
but civilians with a bare minimum of training who had volunteered at the

aged 15 is listed as a farm servant for Edward Lashford and his wife.
