In 1898 Typhoid Fever was in the village. Mr W.J. Phillimore
Clerk to the Tytherington School Board died as did two other villagers.
His death is mentioned in the school log book "On Tuesday afternoon the
school was closed - Mr Phillimore's funeral". There was also an
item in the local newspaper below.
