200 years of Baptist Witness

 

On this page we have the document reproduced in 1990 to celebrate two hundred years of Protestant worship in Tytherington.

The document (left) reads as follows:-

1790 - Certificate for Divine Worship at Tytherington

To the Right Reverend Dr. Beadon Lord Bishop of the Diocese of Gloucester.

These are to certify your Lordship that some of His Majesty's Protestant dissenting Subjects called by the name of Armenians do intend to hold a meeting for the Worship of God in the dwelling house of William Pullen in the Parish of Tytherington in the County of Gloucester and desire it may be Registered in your Court according to an order made in that Behalf in the first year of the reign of King William and Queen Mary.  As witness our hands this second day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety.
